Former college mates Rahil Ulfazia Anhal, Gita Yosika Nasution, and Niken Hapsari Dewi are the founding minds behind Monokrom Interior, an aspiring design interior start-up, based in Jakarta. Since their establishment, Monokrom has been one of TierSpace’s locals, started off with Monthly Dedicated membership, and now as the proud host of a private office space in TierSpace.
The three met while studying interior design at Trisakti university in Jakarta and the bond between them grew stronger as they discovered shared values between their creative visions and goals. Fresh off design school, Rahil, Gita and Niken, part ways to different design consultant companies, only to gain much needed skill set and experiences to eventually start their own.
In Mid-2015, the trio teamed up again to establish Monokrom Interior, creative start-up company, specializes in interior design and build. Based on their experiences when working in other design companies, most designer tends to stay in their comfort zone when designing, rather than pushing the envelope with breakthrough visions. In contrary, Monokrom aims to please their clients with unique ideas, wrapped in bold and expressive designs. During their first year of business, Monokrom has done numerous residential projects in Rasuna Apartment, Basura City Apartment, and Serenia Hills Residence to name a few.

Like many startups, Monokrom also faces the ups and downs from their early days. Getting directly in touch with the project since concepts drafting to project finalization is the discipline that Monokrom practices, so getting dusty and dirty when inspecting a project site is just another usual drill for them. Solid team work and chemistry helps Monokrom stand firm whether when the company have to deal with band of deadlines, or when there was nothing at all, a typical predicament for any start-up companies. Started by hopping from one coffee shop to another, working on their projects, Monokrom is now settled in TierSpace and for the last 7 months has been conducting their business within a co-working space. Many advantages came along a co-working space as the three admits. From gaining networks and links, which is essentials for any freelancers, inside this environment they are also able to share experiences with the other start-ups/freelancer. Socializing with another creative individual behind different business models surely adds more beneficial perspective into the company, as Monokrom expects to become the best design company in Jakarta, and later, the world.
